The only reason this did not receive five stars is because I have not used it yet. I have assembled it and handled it and I am very impressed. I bought two of these as gifts and someone is not getting one, I’m keeping it. I was most impressed with the quality of the reel although the whole assembly worked as advertised. The gold is a beautiful color. This rod is small enough to ice fish with and rugged enough for perch size fish. Now be aware that this is advertised as “pen”…
