  1. Marcum LX-i Portable Sonar…great tool! Bought this for ice fishing on in-land lakes in Michigan. First time out the ice was clear and it worked great. Second and subsequent trips, the ice had snow melted and re-frozen on the top. The ice was less than perfect. Regardless, the unit still shot through and gave a mostly accurate depth. There was only one time when it was off by about 3 feet (in 6 feet of water). It also doesn’t seem to read anything less than 3 feet (in a known 1-2 foot area).   2. good product – easy to use. i really like the product so far. the only drawback – it will not display depth on the surface with certain types of ice. must drill a hole in the ice and put on top of the water. this is my first season using the product. i had a strikemaster polar vision which stopped working after 3 years.

  3. I like these reviews and try to give true experience The LCD screen cover was coming off!! The stickem was not working. Instead of doing the warranty thing I chose to send it back. And try again. I have a few friends that have this item and it seems to be working OK for them. I also purchase the rechargeable unit and it is very chines. The contact phone number doesn’t work and it comes in three pieces. I had to force the pieces together ( it took some real force and pieces of plastic were flying off) I was able to charge the battery up but…
