Great for this price! I’ve had this exact rod for 3 years. I’ve used it for catching crappie, bream, bass, and catfish all with great success. It was bought as my secondary rod, but ended up becoming my primary rod. I use it even more than my Mitchell reel. I have only chosen to change out the original line one time. The original line held up. When casting this rod the reel lets the line out smoothly.
Perfect Panfish Rod & Reel This rod and real combo is perfect for catching all sorts of panfish. I had a couple issues with the line tangling at the reel, but I’ll chalk that up to being rusty with a spinning reel. It switches from right to left handed very easily. The action of the rod is great and the drag is very easy to adjust. It sits comfortably in the hand. If you’re just catching pan fish, this is every bit as good as the higher priced offerings from Shakespeare.
