Best lightweight rod! This rod is awesome! I bass fish and I used to mainly use a 6′ Ugly Stik GX2 with Okuma Helios HX-30 reel & 30lb braided line. That setup works awesome, however, I wanted to have more fun by using a smaller pole, which in turn makes even smaller fish feel like big fish. This 4.6′ rod paired with an Okuma RTX-25S reel & 20lb braided line is just awesome! Catching bass is even more fun now! The 1lb fish feel like 3lb fish, and when you catch a nice 4 or 5 pounder it’s a blast…
Great update to a classic, questionable quality control with blanks Great all around freshwater and light surf rod. Got the 7′ 2pc medium, decent tip (I’d say moderate action) with huge backbone, enough to lift a wobbly 10lb cat into a boat. I like the solid 1pc guides, cork grips (main reason why I opted for the Elite) and snug reel seat. I paired it to an Abu Revo Sx 40, beautiful and lightweight combo that is a hoot to cast and whip.
Don’t spend more, try this fishing rod. I returned a defective Ugly Stik GX2 and ordered this. This is definately an upgrade. It is lighter, more sensitive, and just a tough as the fishing rod it replaced. I feel it is as good or better than some i have looked at in the $100+ range. Definately a good value.
